Greetings, lovely Writing Women!
It’s that time of year, the hint of cool is in the air (please!) and we’ve all seen our days get busier since the Labor Day with that unmistakable back-to-school energy. And, indeed that was our prompt this month, to write up to 1,000 words on the theme -‘Back to School.’
I’m looking forward to your unique perspective on the idea tomorrow, Monday September 12 at 1:15pm, for our monthly meeting at the Accokeek Library.
AWWG is also back to school for another year, our 5th!! I completely expect another awesome year of writing adventures and progress. I am so proud of our members’ successes: new books, stories, edits, drafts and ideas! And of all the creative risk-taking and self promotion that you’re doing to bring your work to the world.
We are growing in our 5th year, and now have an official Steering Committee made up of members who wish to play a role in guiding our continued success as a group. Email me if you’re interested in our next meeting.
We’re also encouraging additional meetings throughout the month. I’d love to hear from the Memoir Group what you’ve been doing, and I believe there’s a Marketing Group that’s forming. Other ideas about additional projects are most welcome!
With the Falling Leaves comes NANOWRIMO!
Don’t forget that NaNoWriMo is on the horizon. For info on our past NaNo doings search the tag ‘nanowrimo’ and visit their web site and blog. October is the time to get ready to write, so we’ll be posting about that here. And of course we’ll host NaNo events in November. Stay tuned!
