Welcome to the launch of Elliott batTzedek’s new business venture: Poems Into Print, Your Poetry Business Manager.
It’s a great idea, and I can vouch for her gifts as a writer, editor and marketer! She’s been a great colleague of mine for years, and I can think of few people I’d rather have handle my poetry business.
Here’s her pitch! I hope some of you take her up on the idea of completing the survey, and being entered into a possibility of winning free services!
Elliott says: “I’m designing a new kind of business – POEMS INTO PRINT! Not a literacy agency, but a service to help poets free up Time to Actually Write by taking care of all the non-writing parts of the poetry business.
Poems Into Print will proof and submit work, track submissions, and send out work that gets returned, as well as offering submitting and editing services for chapbooks and manuscripts. I’ll do all the work that is necessary other than writing – finding markets, tracking dates, preparing manuscripts to meet various criteria, tracking costs for entry and reading fees, helping set up blogs or business cards, and choosing work for readings and presentations.
I’m asking a favor of all of you to help get this company off the ground. I’ve created a brief market survey. You can find it at:
If you are a poet, please fill it out and share it with your friends. If you are not a poet but are on my list, then I know that you know poets, so please share!
Everyone who completes the survey will be entered to win free services, either submitting a batch of poems or proofing and submitting a chapbook!
